Tuition fee waiver scheme

• The Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme is applicable to all engineering courses.
• The supernumerary seats not exceeding five percent of sanctioned intake of the colleges or institutions shall be filled on the basis of merit of the candidate, the annual income of whose parents is less than Rs. 6 lakhs from all sources of income.
• The Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme shall be for the complete duration of the course and the students admitted under this scheme shall not be allowed to change the institution or the course under any circumstances.

Important Note:

To get the benefit of TFW scheme, the candidate has to submit the income certificate issued after in the name of his father (in case of father is not alive, in the name of mother) from either ‘Mamlatdar’ or ‘Taluka development officer’ or Collector (Jan Seva Kendra) at the time of registration for admission. No other certificate/document will be considered valid (e.g. Income tax return copy, Certificate issued by ‘Sarpanch’ of Grampanchayat etc.)

Admission Procedure

75% of the total sanctioned seats of the Diploma Engineering Courses of the Merchant Institute of Diploma Studies, Formerly: Narayanbhai Bhikhabhai Patel Polytechnic, (Approved By AICTE & Affiliated with GTU) shall be filled up by Admission Committee for Professional Diploma Courses (ACPDC), Ahmedabad.

25% of the total sanctioned seats of the Diploma Engieering Courses of the Merchant Institute of Diploma Studies, Formerly: Narayanbhai Bhikhabhai Patel Polytechnic, (Approved By AICTE & Affiliated with GTU) including 15% NRI Indian seats shall be filled up by the Management of the College. The admission procedure is carried out as per the guidelines of Government resolution issued by education department, Government of Gujarat every year.

Admission is offered by centralized Diploma admission committee appointed by Government of Gujarat & by the Management of the College on the bases of marks obtained in the Secondary School Certificate Examination

NRI Admission

For admission on NRI seats, following are the guidelines

• NRI students or NRI sponsored students shall be given admission on NRI seats.
• The student, who has passed the qualifying examination from countries other than India shall have to obtain equivalency certificate from the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi.
• The NRI student seeking admission on NRI seats shall have to submit copy of his/her passport along with a copy of passport of his/her mother and/or father. NRI sponsored student seeking admission on NRI seats shall have to submit copy of a passport (having signature of sponsorer) of sponsoring NRI person and the affidavit stating relation of student with sponsoring NRI person, responsibilities of paying tuition fee and other fees and taking all responsibilities of education of sponsored student.
• Sponsored NRI student shall be included in the merit list of NRI seats as well as management seats.
• If the student applied for the NRI category, is not able to produce necessary proofs of being NRI or NRI sponsored student at the time of counseling, such student shall be granted admission in the management seats on the basis of merit of the same.
